Congratulations on Easter

Dear friends! Congratulations on the bright Easter holiday!

Today we want to show you how this day was spent in the Russian army during the First World War.

At the front in the trenches, soldiers received gifts, wrote letters home with Easter wishes, painted eggs and ate traditional cakes. At night, during the seconds of rest, the soldiers congratulated each other and kissed Christ. Worship, of course, depended on the situation on the front line: somewhere it was held, and somewhere it was an unacceptable luxury.
