The Bunker-42 team congratulates everyone on National Unity Day!

On November 4, 1612, the people's militia, led by Prince Dmitry Pozharsky and the Zemstvo headman Kuzma Minin, drove out the Polish invaders, who kept Moscow in occupation for two long years. The garrison of the Commonwealth retreated to the Kremlin with heavy losses, the situation was so disastrous that they signed the capitulation the very next day, releasing representatives of the Russian nobility from the fortress. A day later, the Poles laid down their arms.

With the expulsion of the Poles, the long period of the Time of Troubles in Russia ended. A few months after the liberation, the Zemsky Sobor, which included representatives of all the estates of the country: the nobility, boyars, clergy, Cossacks, archers, peasants and delegates from Russian cities, elected a new tsar. Representative of the Romanov dynasty - Mikhail Fedorovich.
