End of the Cuban Missile Crisis

The Caribbean Crisis marked a turning point in the nuclear race and the Cold War. In Western countries, an anti-war movement began, which peaked in the 1960s and 1970s. In the USSR, voices also began to be heard calling for limiting the nuclear arms race and strengthening the role of society in political decision-making.

Khrushchev himself, in his memoirs, assessed the outcome of the crisis as follows: “Now many years have passed, and this is already the domain of history. And I am proud that we have shown courage and foresight. And I think we won."

More interesting facts about the Caribbean Crisis will be told by the guides of Bunker-42.
