"UKP" - unified command posts

In the 4th block of our legendary object, which was called "Object number 20 of the Ministry of Defense", there was a stationary control point of the strategic long-range aviation headquarters.

If in the 1950s command posts were equipped with tablets - giant maps, where manually, in real time, the tablet players noted the current situation, and the command in the same way manually gave orders in real time using radio and telegraph communications, then from the mid-1970s years, with the development of computer technology, many processes have become automated.

The UKP was equipped with computerized consoles, with the help of which only a few officers at any time could launch a group launch of intercontinental missiles anywhere in the world.

In our museum you can see a unique exhibit - a fully working model of such consoles in the original case, and see live how they work.
