The rocket that opened the way to space for us.

Among the exhibits of the museum's combat control room there is a small model of a modest gray rocket. This is the R-7, the famous "seven" - the world's first intercontinental ballistic missile, the brainchild of Sergei Pavlovich Korolev.

The development of the R-7 was one of the largest engineering and technical projects that have ever been implemented in the USSR.

On the basis of this rocket, a whole family of medium-class launch vehicles was created.

With the help of just such carriers, many artificial satellites of the Earth were sent into space, starting from the very first, as well as all Soviet and Russian cosmonauts, starting with Yuri Gagarin.
